About the Summit
The World Bank Group Youth Summit returns for its 12th edition on May 19–20, 2025, in Washington DC and virtually. It gathers young leaders (ages 18–35) from around the world to explore solutions for urgent global challenges.
2025 Theme
“New Horizons: Youth-Led Innovation for a Livable Planet”
Main focus areas:
- Digital Transformation & Data – using AI, big data, and tech to bridge gaps and create jobs
- Food Security & Green Agriculture – using tools like IoT and clean energy to build climate resilience
- Creative Industries – promoting jobs and social change through arts, media, and fashion
Each topic will explore innovation from three key perspectives:
- Underserved populations
- Fragile and conflict-affected areas (FCV)
- Partnerships for impact
Summit Objectives
- Empower youth to create development solutions
- Provide tools for impact-driven projects
- Promote global collaboration between youth and decision-makers
Why It’s Important
- Most of the world’s youth live in developing countries
- Many face limited job opportunities, especially those from marginalized backgrounds
- Youth are already creating change through digital platforms, sustainable farming, and entrepreneurship
- The Summit supports these efforts by connecting youth-led innovations with global partners

- Ages 18–35
- Open to global youth leaders, innovators, and changemakers
