Australia Awards Scholarships
Long-term study opportunities for individuals from developing countries, especially in the Indo-Pacific region.

Purpose
To support full-time undergraduate or postgraduate study at participating Australian universities and TAFE institutions. The goal is to build skills and knowledge that contribute to development in recipients’ home countries.


Eligibility

  • Open to citizens of eligible developing countries.
  • Must meet country-specific criteria (check local Australian Embassy or the official website).
  • Must leave Australia for a minimum of two years after completing the scholarship.

What the Scholarship Covers

  • Full tuition fees
  • Return economy airfare (to and from Australia)
  • Establishment allowance (to help with accommodation, books, etc.)
  • Fortnightly living expenses allowance (Contribution to Living Expenses – CLE)
  • Introductory Academic Program (IAP) before starting studies
  • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the scholarship period
  • Pre-course English training (if required)
  • Academic support (if needed)
  • Fieldwork allowance for eligible research students (one return airfare)

Conditions

  • Must sign a contract with the Commonwealth of Australia agreeing to all scholarship conditions.
  • Scholars must return home and stay for at least two years after finishing studies.
  • If not, the total cost of the scholarship may need to be repaid.
