🎓 Australian Awards for PNG – Summary for Papua New Guinean Students

Who can apply:

Papua New Guinean citizens who:

  • Have at least a bachelor’s degree.

  • Intend to pursue postgraduate (Master’s level) studies in Australia.

  • Are currently residing and working in PNG.

  • Have at least two years of relevant work experience.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to contribute to PNG’s development.

Must meet the following:

  • Proven academic merit.

  • Strong English language proficiency (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent).

  • Clear leadership potential.

  • Commitment to return to PNG after study completion.

  • Alignment of study program with PNG’s development priorities.

âť— Important Notes:

  • Open only to PNG citizens; dual nationals (with Australian citizenship) are not eligible.

  • Must be applying for fields relevant to priority sectors (see below).

  • Public, private, and civil society sector employees are welcome.

  • Women, people with disabilities, and individuals from rural/remote areas are strongly encouraged to apply.

Selection Process:
